Join us on Sunday, November 12, for a free interactive workshop designed to offer techniques for speeding up recovery, reducing injuries, and addressing emerging or lingering niggles. Active Recovery for Runners, presented by the RUNColumbus Race Series and Select Sports Center for Excellence at NovaCare Rehabilitation, is open to runners, walkers, and anyone living an active lifestyle.
Jessica Root, PT, DPT, and Select Sports Center for Excellence manager, is teaming up with experienced RYT200 Yoga Alliance certified teacher Kristin Gordon-Hock to provide attendees with practical tools for staying healthy on the run.
The workshop will include three interactive stations included the following:

The differences between static and dynamic stretching will be covered, as well as understanding when to use one versus the other to help address the flexibility of the lower extremity.
Upper and Lower Quarter Foam Roll Stretching: Get ahead of your recovery after your training runs and races by participating in active recovery with foam rolling. Learn the best foam rolling techniques for lower and upper quarters to reduce muscle soreness.
