The popular television show of the 80’s and 90’s, Cheers, had it right: “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came.”

Do you believe in the magic that happens when “everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came”? Well, we do, too! That’s the spirit that defines Team RUNColumbus, and we are searching for eight to ten Team Captains who can embody and enhance this sense of camaraderie.

What does it take to be a RUNColumbus Team Captain?

  1. Passion for the Team and Others: You should genuinely love our team and desire to see it and others thrive. Your enthusiasm will be contagious!
  2. Passion for Inclusivity: Just like the famous bar in Cheers, we want our team to be a place where everyone feels welcome. If you value inclusivity and diversity, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
  3. Passion for Connecting: A great captain can lead and take initiative when needed, foster collaboration, and encourage each member to shine.

What roles will RUNColumbus Team Captains play?

Race days are central to connecting with teammates. Team Captains will assist with the Team Meetups and encourage all finishers. We expect multiple Team Captains to be present at each race. A schedule will be created based on the races each captain plans to attend. Occasionally, we may ask Team Captains to check in on fellow teammates and personally invite them to special gatherings.

I’m interested, but I have questions.

We want to hear from you if you feel the call to help lead our team to another fantastic year! To express your interest, let us know. Submitting the interest form does not commit you. We are holding a Virtual (Prospective) Team Captain Meeting on Wednesday, December 20 at 7 p.m.

Here’s to another year of friendship, achievements, and shared moments together!
