Stepping in the spotlight today as we continue our weekly series featuring some of the many fine individuals in the running community is Craig Simpson.⠀
⠀
Hi, I’m Craig Simpson and this is my wife Lauren. Two cats—Whiskey and Jameson—round out our family.⠀
⠀
Why did you start running?⠀I ran in high school and college but stopped shortly thereafter. I was lured back by a friend from high school who was putting together a team for the inaugural Buck Fifty Race (the 150 miles, 24 hours, 10 person team relay) in my hometown of Chillicothe in 2016. Thus, I have continued.⠀
⠀
Favorite thing about running?⠀Aside from general fitness, it is an excellent way to clear your mind, relieve stress, and comprehend life’s goofiness.⠀
⠀
Favorite race(s) in Central Ohio?⠀The Buck Fifty, CRC Mile Dash, Cap City Half, Columbus 10K⠀
⠀
What advice would you give someone just getting started?⠀It will hurt, It will be daunting but is so worth the time, the effort, the friends you will make and the competition with yourself as well as others.⠀
