Meet RUNColumbus team member Nancy Shoemaker. Nancy is married to Kevin Shoemaker and they have a blended family—three daughters, two sons, and two grandkids. The Shoemakers also have one dog and two cats. Kevin and Nany run both run half marathons primarily in different states (trying for at least one in each state. ) They have 12 done and will add two more this spring.
Why/when did you start running? I ran in track in high school until junior year when I started working and they didn’t let me do both. They also didn’t have any girls cross country. I ran 800s, the 4×4, and did the high jump.
What is your favorite aspect(s) of running? Freedom. I just have always loved to run even as a kid.
What excites you about being part of the RUNColumbus Race Series and Team? Having some interesting runs keeping in shape for our half marathons which we mainly do only in the spring and fall/early winter.
