Tell us about yourself and your journey to becoming a strength coach.

Emily Finn, PT, DPT, WCS combines her knowledge as a physical therapist with her passion for health and wellness when coaching clients. She is the founder and owner of Empower You PT, her physical therapy practice based out of her gym CrossFit Expedition in Westerville, OH. She graduated from Northwestern University’s 2014 Doctor of Physical Therapy program and is board certified in Women’s Health physical therapy. She also holds a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy through the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. She writes questions for the Women’s Health physical therapy board certification exam. She is a lab assistant for the APHPT’s pelvic health course series. She serves on the CAPP-Pelvic committee, with whom she writes course materials for physical therapists seeking continuing education in pelvic health. Emily is a runner herself and loves combining her love for the sport with her clinical passions to promote runners’ health in various ways, especially in strength training and pelvic health.

What is your coaching philosophy?

I must give my clients the tools they need to be successful. I am here to guide clients toward their goals and recovery, but ultimately, the client puts in the hard work. I strive to provide education and empowerment to allow clients to spearhead their path toward health and wellness.
