Train smart. Build strong. Race ready.
Whether you’re training for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon or 1/2 Half Marathon, or another fall goal race, this is the time to start building with purpose. Columbus Westside Running Club and the RUNColumbus Race Series are teaming up to help you get there with confidence.
The Fall 2026 Training Plan was created by Dr. Chris Taylor, PhD, RDN, LD, FAND, RRCA Level I Coach, lead coach for Columbus Westside Running Club, and an active participant in the RUNColumbus Race Series.
Chris is a running coach, registered dietitian, and nutrition researcher at The Ohio State University. He supports runners of all abilities through evidence-based training, practical nutrition guidance, and a deep commitment to the Columbus running community.
This plan is built for real runners with real lives. It gives you structure without overcomplicating the process.
Inside the full plan, you’ll find:
- 18-week training options
- 10K, half marathon, and marathon plans
- Finisher, Trainer, and Racer levels
- Build weeks, fallback weeks, taper weeks, and race week
- Guidance on pacing, long runs, tempo workouts, hills, speed work, recovery, fueling, and hydration
- Race-day reminders to help you arrive healthy, prepared, and confident
This is not about doing more just to do more.
It’s about training with purpose. Respecting recovery. Building consistency. And showing up ready to enjoy the miles ahead.
