Team RUNColumbus was back at it this weekend with races on both Saturday and Sunday—and plenty to celebrate along the way.
Saturday: Baltimore Festival 5K
Saturday took us to Baltimore, Ohio, for the 35th Annual Baltimore Festival 5K, a longtime community race benefiting the Liberty Union Cross Country teams.
Munir and Billur led the RUNColumbus highlights, each earning an age group victory. It was another great opportunity for teammates to race together while supporting a local event and the next generation of runners.
Sunday: Blacklick Creek 5 Miler
Sunday brought the next stop in the RUNColumbus Challenger Series—the Blacklick Creek 5 Miler.
This year’s race featured a new start and finish at Portman Park, with runners taking on a flat, fast and mostly shaded out-and-back course along the paved Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail.
And RUNColumbus showed up in a big way.
Kyle, David and Fern swept the top three overall spots, finishing 1-2-3, while Clare delivered another strong performance with a second-place overall finish.
The age group results were equally impressive:
20–29: Ali
30–39: Emma
40–49: Billur and Munir
50–59: Maria and George
60–69: Noemi
70+: Fred and Barbara
From Saturday’s community 5K to Sunday’s Challenger Series showdown, it was another weekend that showcased the depth of Team RUNColumbus. Different distances, different courses and plenty of teammates challenging themselves—and celebrating one another along the way.
This is RUNColumbus.
