Meet RUNColumbus team member Sue Katz. Sue is retired and lives by herself so she has lots of time to enjoy running.

Why/when did you start running? I started running in 1978 ( yes, I am very old). I was teaching in a residential school for children with disabilities.  At noon the children would go back to their group homes for an hour and a half to eat lunch. I met a teacher that would run at that time so I decided to join her in my regular tennis shoes for a daily run. I have not stopped since.

What is your favorite aspect(s) of running? I enjoy two things about running. 1) running on my own and enjoying the peacefulness of my surroundings and 2) running with friends to have lively conversations.

What excites you about being part of the RUNColumbus Race Series and Team? A good friend told me about RUNColumbus. I thought what a great motivation to keep me running throughout the year.  I have not done many races these last few years like many runners so this is a great chance to get myself back into it. I also am rather competitive so that makes this even more fun. My goal is to complete all the races. I may be walking more than running on some of them but I will definitely try to be there.
