Series Race #10 of the 2023 Season of the RUNColumbus Race Series is the Private School Pups Inaugural 5K Run/Walk Presented by Endeavor Brewery being organized by the first-time race director and RUNColumbus athlete Jenna. We caught up with Jenna to learn more about her journey to starting this race and why it means so much to her.

How did you become a race director? I have been running races for years and graduated with a degree in Sports Management. When the non-profit board I am a member of was looking for fundraising ideas, I suggested a 5K! We brought in the incredible Andy Harris of Columbus Running Company to help handle all of the logistics, and he has taken me under his wing and walked me through everything.

What’s the greatest challenge you face in your role? Since this is our first year and the only race I am a part of, I am still learning the ropes and dealing with challenges as they arise. Permits and applications are definitely so involved.. there are things I realized I never considered when I was doing initial planning.

What’s the greatest reward? To see my family and friends sign up to support a cause near and dear to my heart!

Besides signing up for your race, how can runners support and encourage race organizers? Please share our posts on social media!

What would you like runners to know about the race? The money raised from this race goes directly to saving the lives of shelter dogs at risk of euthanasia ♥️.

Is there anything else you want people to know?  I am so blessed and grateful for everyone who is registering, and for the support from RUNColumbus!
