Meet RUNColumbus team member Ashly Galownia. Ashly has been married to Chris for 21 years. They have two kids—daughter Alyssa 18 and son Connor 12. This family loves animals and has 4 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 horses.
Why/when did you start running? I started running three years ago when I decided I needed to get healthy to be around to see my kids grow up. I always thought I was pretty healthy until I entered a 5K and realized I couldn’t even run a mile without being out of breath.
What is your favorite aspect(s) of running? I love running because it is a great stress reliever. It took a while to actually enjoy running, but now there are days when I crave getting out to stretch my legs.
What excites you about being part of the RUNColumbus Race Series and Team? The Columbus running community is strong. There are so many friends to be made just going out on a run. I look forward to meeting other runners in the group. I love to challenge myself so this year I joined RUNColumbus to chase more run time goals and improve my running technique.
