Team RUNColumbus Sweeps the Podium at Race for Hope Derriere Dash

Apparently, one week of recovery after Columbus Marathon Weekend was enough for some RUNColumbus teammates! With perfect fall racing temperatures calling, several members of the team were ready to lace up again, test their legs, and enjoy another race day together.

Sunday’s Race for Hope Derriere Dash 5K provided the perfect opportunity.

Team RUNColumbus delivered a clean sweep of the top three overall spots, with Christy taking first, Janice finishing second, and Amy claiming third.

The strong performances continued in the age group divisions, where Lucy, Noemi, Barb, and Patrick each earned age group honors.

Racing for a Meaningful Cause

The Race for Hope has a story that extends well beyond the finish line. Founded in 2004, the event raises awareness of colorectal cancer, particularly its impact on younger people. Its mission is rooted in personal loss and a commitment to education, early detection, and hope for those affected by the disease.

We’re especially proud of our teammate Tricia, who serves as co-race director. While some teammates were chasing finish lines, Tricia was helping make the entire experience possible. Her leadership is another example of the many ways RUNColumbus teammates contribute to the broader running community.

For RUNColumbus, events like this are a reminder that racing brings together competition, community, and causes that matter.

Congratulations to all our teammates who represented the series on Sunday, and thank you, Tricia, for the work behind the scenes. Whether you’re racing, volunteering, or directing, every contribution helps make our running community stronger.

Let’s RUNColumbus TOGETHER!
