Who Makes RUNColumbus Special? Spirit Award Nominations Are Open!

Every race season, there are teammates who make a difference beyond the finish line.

They’re the ones welcoming new faces at Team Meetups, encouraging others along the course, celebrating someone else’s accomplishment, or simply making people feel like they belong.

They help turn a collection of runners and walkers into something more: a team.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Spirit of RUNColumbus Award, one of our two peer-selected honors.

This award celebrates someone who doesn’t just belong to RUNColumbus but helps create the RUNColumbus experience for others.

We’re looking for teammates who actively engage in the Race Series, build meaningful connections, embrace healthy competition, and positively represent RUNColumbus in the broader running community.

They don’t have to be the fastest, loudest, or most recognizable teammate. Sometimes it’s the quiet gestures, consistent encouragement, and genuine care for others that leave the greatest impression.

Who comes to mind when you think about the spirit of RUNColumbus?

This is your opportunity to recognize someone whose presence and actions make our team better.

Nominations close at midnight Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
