But what excites us most isn’t simply that the schedule is bigger.

A Bigger Schedule Doesn’t Mean You Have to Race More
Some RUNColumbus athletes race nearly every weekend.
Others choose six or eight races across the entire season.
Some are chasing PRs, podiums and championships. Others want a goal on the calendar, a reason to keep moving and a community to share it with.
Some love the familiarity and energy of a 5K. Others are training for a marathon or ultra. Maybe you want a downtown starting line, a stadium finish or a small-town race. And increasingly, runners are stepping off the pavement and discovering what awaits on the trails.
There is room for all of it.
83 events doesn’t mean 83 races you need to run. It means 83 opportunities to find the races and experiences that are right for you.
That’s why we’ve intentionally built a schedule spanning different distances, locations, surfaces, seasons and price points.
You get to decide what your RUNColumbus season looks like.
Six Races or Sixteen—Make It Your Season
We love celebrating RUNColumbus athletes who rack up race after race throughout the year. Their accomplishments are worth celebrating.
But racing frequently is not the measure of belonging here—or the measure of getting value from the Series.
Complete the required six Series races and you can participate fully in the competitive and awards side of RUNColumbus. Want to race more? Great. Prefer to choose six races that matter most to you? Great.
Your season should fit your life—not someone else’s race calendar.
The value of having more options is not that you have to use every one.

RUNColumbus was created to connect runners with the incredible running community right here in Central Ohio.
That isn’t changing.
More than 8 in 10 events on the 2027 schedule remain within the 11-county Columbus Region.
At the same time, we’re opening the door to a few more adventures beyond our home turf—giving teammates opportunities to experience new communities, new courses and some memorable road and trail events throughout Ohio.
It could mean discovering a race you never knew existed. Running somewhere you’ve never been. Tackling a different kind of terrain. Turning a race into a weekend adventure. Or sharing a starting line with teammates in another part of the state.
It’s the best of both worlds: a season rooted in Columbus with room to explore.
You’re Joining More Than a Race Calendar
RUNColumbus does not produce the races on our schedule, and individual race registrations are separate.
What your RUNColumbus registration provides is access to the full 2027 RUNColumbus Race Series experience—including the Trail Series.
Choose from road and trail races throughout the season. Participate in Series challenges. Pursue awards and recognition. Take advantage of available race discounts. Attend exclusive RUNColumbus events, including the postseason Awards Celebration. Track your progress. Discover new races. Meet runners you might never have crossed paths with otherwise.
And become part of a community that keeps showing up for one another long after the finish line comes down.
Whether you race six times or sixteen, you’re not buying races from RUNColumbus. You’re joining a season.
We Know Value Matters
Every registration matters. Every race entry matters. And for many families, decisions about where to spend discretionary dollars are being made more carefully.
We respect that.
It’s one reason we continue working with race partners to provide available RUNColumbus discounts. It’s why the schedule includes different distances, locations and price points. And it’s why one RUNColumbus registration connects you to the entire Series experience rather than requiring separate memberships for different parts of the season.
But we also believe some of the best value RUNColumbus creates can’t be measured simply by dividing a registration fee by the number of races you run.
