On a picture-perfect Memorial Day morning, runners and walkers gathered in Upper Arlington for the 53rd Annual UACA Memorial Day Run, a longstanding tradition that offers participants a 5K or 1-mile route. Winding through tree-lined neighborhood streets, this event is a family favorite that strikes the perfect balance between fun and competition.
This year’s race was extra special as it marked the final stop in a busy May—nine series races in one month!—and our team showed up strong to finish the month with style and grit.
Athlete Highlights:
- Amanda celebrated a huge milestone with a two-minute personal record—a true testament to hard work paying off.
- Sidra powered through to claim 2nd Overall Female, showcasing impressive strength and consistency.
- Maria showed unbeatable resilience, earning the 50-59 Age Group win less than a day after stepping off an international flight.
Meanwhile, across town at the Rooster Memorial Day 5K, Sandy and Helen each earned Age Group wins, proving our team’s depth and determination.
Whether you’re a seasoned racer or just getting started, the Memorial Day Run was a reminder of the joy of racing together, supporting each other, and honoring the spirit of the day.
Here’s to community, competition, and closing out May on a high note.
