Meet RUNColumbus team member Pat Heyd. Pat has a son at The Ohio State University and a daughter in high school. Rounding out their family is a 10-year-old St. Bernard/ English Sheepdog mix and a covid kitten.

Why/when did you start running? In 1980 my mom enter my older sister and me in her work 5k at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. No choice!

What is your favorite aspect(s) of running? The beautiful destinations running takes you. The people you get to meet. Mostly, all the trails you get to explore! It has always been a part of my life and a source of joy.

What excites you about being part of the RUNColumbus Race Series and Team? I needed some motivation this year for many reasons. I love having events on the calendar. I prefer running on trails. This series is taking me out of my comfort zone to try something different, push a little. I am also using it to train and get back in shape for some longer endurance events this year. I am thankful to have a couple of running friends that joined the fun and look forward to meeting more.
